Before you can determine if a Work From Home Business Is Right For You, you need to determine what is going to motivate you to be successful. What burning desire do you have that will instill in you the desire to succeed in a Work From Home business. Now,write it down, look at it everyday.

SOME PERSONAL HISTORY
Just 2 years ago I was working in Corporate America. I played around on the internet, successfully selling on eBay, I became a Power Seller, only eBay is like working for Corporate America - they have tons of rules and if you want to keep your Power Seller status you must follow their rules. Any business you work at, weather it is your own Work From Home business or you 9-5 corporate job, every business has rules and policies that have to be followed - I have rules in my business that I must follow in order to be profitable.

In 2007 I retired to nanny my twin grandbabies Lauren and Hudson. They are the joy of my life. Next to being a mother there is nothing better than being a grandmother. I continued to sell on eBay to subsidize my nanny income.

Then one day the light came on - although eBay has been very good for me, I wanted to add another stream of income to my work at home business. I knew Lauren and Hudson would start to school one day and not need a nanny. I began to look for other opportunities on the internet. I firmly did not want to go back into corporate America, I knew that I would soon become the taxi driver to and from the t-ball field, gymnastics; I certainly did not want to miss their school programs. I couldn't get myself tied down with a 9-5 job. I knew that I could make money on the internet. I used every moment of opportunity to get online in order to explore ways to use the Internet to make money. I truly believed that there was something out in that far away place that would work for me. I had a burning desire to have a home based business. I wanted something that would make a good living, subsidize my retirement and evidently replace my nanny pay; something that I could do working from home. After all, I had been in the computer business, for 21 years, I was educated, I had a good home support system and I wasn't looking for the million dollar job, just a steady income. I didn't want to set my sights so high that I could not attain the goals I was working towards.

In the first year, it was costly, buying eBooks, memberships, and joining every affiliate program that promised success. Soon my mailbox was full of business opportunities that I finally hit the "DELETE" key.

MY FIRST REAL WEBSITE EXPERIENCE
That's when the light became brighter; I knew I needed a website. I needed to get the top affiliate programs that I made profit from into one place. I had a "Plan". I bought several books; I stayed up night after night trying to learn to build a website, but could not get the HTML, JAVA language down. I still had high hopes of making money online. I kept in my mind, the internet was a world of pure potential, where anything was possible, after all, I had worked with computers most of my adult life and I truly believed that I could make money working on the internet. In my second year of working part-time to build a home based income, I came across an ad while I doing Pay Per Click and landed on a page for Plug-In Profit Site, a professionally pre-designed website. I did some research and found that is was being used by many people that already had profitable home businesses. The website was FREE, I only had to pay a small amount per month for hosting fees, and it came with a great support team to assist me as I learned to use it. Having the flexibility to customise my website gave it the look and feel that I wanted to portray for my business. Now that I have my first real website up and running, I was working my "plan", and I could advertise all my affiliates on my own website...Life is good. Affiliate programs ROCK!

This was actually when I felt I had really taken the leap into my first Home Internet Marketing business. The timing was great. I knew that I would only be keeping the grandchildren a short time, and they would begin their venture out and socialize with other children in an educational learning center - so having the nanny income allotted me a few months to get up to speed with my new work at home business.

BEYOND THE PHYSICAL WORLD WE LIVE
Through research, I learned most experts started the same place I did. Although, they are further down the path to financial freedom than I am; they now have money, contacts and have gained a lot of presence. I had to realize I have not been out in the business world for 2 year, where I could talk to people about my business venture, remember I have a set of now 2 year old twins - my grandbabies, they go to a church school program 2 days a week, for half a day, but that did not afford me the time I needed to research the vast amount of information to start an home base internet marketing business and build an website. The one thing that I did learn about the "experts" was that they were not always high earners, when they started they all had to travel the same secret faraway places that I have traveled. At some point they all had to stay up night after night until they learned the secret of success. Due to my determination the many nights with loss of sleep and the strong desire to work from home was worth the rewards I have finally received. I continued to believe in that place where anything and everything was possible. The world of the internet! It is a very powerful world!

THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE WAS PRICELESS
I learned from one of the best that in order to enter that world of pure potential you must master your own learning potential. From the start you must not only have the desire to start a home based business and work outside corporate America, quit the 9-5 shift, be your own boss, control your own time - You have to set your goals to accomplish all this - you have to have a plan to succeed! I didn't have a plan - I knew I wanted to have a home based internet business. However, instead of allowing this to be a walking away point, this only convinced me that this struggling online entrepreneur had simply taken a wrong turn along the way and was traveling the wrong road. I needed to turn around, figure out where I made the wrong turn.

I soon realized that even though I had this website, no one is going to look at or even know about it because I didn't advertise. I didn't realize that just because I bought a domain name, got it registered and had a website that I was going to make money. I needed to advertise it, create links in my website so search engines would find it. I used advertising sites that were free, submitted ads and waited for results. I received a few responses from my auto responder. This gave me the hope I needed. I moved to larger paid advertise ring, again I received more and more emails from my Auto Responder. In time, I learned how to make my advertising work for me; I learned how search engines worked. I also learned I had to give in order to receive. Clients love free offers, so I began including Bonuses with my website.

THINK LIKE A WINNER
Determine what your motivational factor is and write that down. To be a winner and succeed, from the very moment the seed is planted in your mind to have your own Work At Home business, for whatever reason, to spend more time with your family, to retire, to have more freedom; set goals that you can attain so that you will be successful. Than grow those goals so that you can be financial free.

FOLLOW YOUR DREAM
If you decide to go the journey on your own, then I recommend you do all of the necessary research, planning and preparation that is needed for your success. For me to be successful I knew what I wanted to do, I just had to turn my "dream" into "action", figure out how my website would generate a real income for me. Look to the internet, there is endless possibilies, beyond the physical world that we live in day to day, the internet offers endless opportunities - that other world - the Internet.

Do you remember in High school when you had to take those aptitude tests to see what kind of career you would do well in? I remember my test results told me that I would make a great store owner. My husbands also told him that he would do well as an entrepreneur. So as our life together started to grow we decided to open our own Comic book Shop. We where taking charge of our lives and becoming our own boss. I twas hard work. The day to day grind of finding the funds to start and the search for the perfect spot for our store took many months to achieve. But the hardest job we had was after the Store opened. We realized that we had to promote our business or we wouldn't survive. How were we going to get customers to come to our store? We checked into advertisements in the telephone directory and radio spots to Promote our business. But these programs were pricey and money was tight. We were facing what every business big or small faces. How do we get customers to come to our store without breaking our limited pocketbook? We had to get creative. We made large signs to put out on the streets. We made posters and flyer's and passed them out to different areas of the city. We did research and found out where our target market consumers hung out. Then we went there and hung out too.

When starting your own business you need to consider what you need to do to promote yourself. Just like we did, you need to start thinking of ways to promote your business. And unless you are already rich, you want to find ways to save money while promoting. Here are a few pointers that may help you to promote your business without breaking the bank.

1. Do your research. Find out were your target market is. Your target market are the people that will be most interested in what you are selling. Go to websites that deal with the same product that you have. Go to Blogs and read about your business. hang out in newsgroups and Forums and talk to people. Find out where your target market is and then hang out with them. And don't forget to go to those conference calls and talk. People will start to recognize you.

2. Write something. Become an expert in your field. Write as many Ezine articles that you can about your business.
